Far-left political streamer Hasan Piker faced intense backlash across social media after launching a personal jab at Rep. Brandon Gill’s wife, triggering a furious online exchange with the Texas Republican and conservative commentators.

The dispute began after Gill, R-Texas, publicly slammed Piker following an interview in which the Twitch streamer doubled down on past controversial foreign policy remarks, arguing that “pound for pound,” the United States has caused more terror globally than al-Qaeda.

Sharing a clip of the interview, Gill labeled Piker the “poster child for why we need to end birth tourism,” pointing out that Piker was born in New Jersey to Turkish nationals and raised in Turkey before returning to the U.S. for college.

Four-word post sparks intense pushback

Rather than addressing Gill’s policy criticism or foreign policy comments, Piker quote-posted the congressman’s statement with a four-word reply targeting Gill’s wife, author and conservative activist Danielle D’Souza Gill:

“your wife is indian.”

The comment referred to Danielle being the daughter of conservative author and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza, who was born in India before immigrating to the U.S.

Piker’s post was quickly met with widespread condemnation from conservative figures and social media users, who accused the streamer of deploying identity-based deflection to avoid defending his political positions.

Gill fires back with scathing response

Representative Gill delivered a blistering response defending his wife while torching Piker’s commentary and lifestyle.

“My wife is an American, born in America to American citizens. She deeply loves our nation and its culture,” Gill wrote. “You, on the other hand, were born to foreign invaders and want to turn America into the third world culture you were raised in, while advocating for communism at your $3 million mansion.”

Dinesh D’Souza also joined the fray, posting photos of his family and calling out Piker for dragging relatives into political debates.

The online spat comes as GOP strategists point to Piker’s rhetoric as a recurring liability for Democrats, noting his ties to high-profile progressive campaigns and candidates like Michigan Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed.
