Manassas Shooting Leaves 3 Hurt as Gunman Escapes, with three workers suffering critical injuries there Wednesday morning.
Police said three male employees suffered critical injuries after gunfire erupted Wednesday morning at a Manassas workplace.
Officers responded around 7 a.m. after emergency calls reported an active shooter at the United Rentals facility.
Investigators later said the incident appeared connected to workplace violence, rather than an indiscriminate public attack reported.
Police Search for Suspect
Authorities identified the suspect as Marvin Grant, who police believe worked alongside the victims at the facility.
Police warned residents not to approach Grant if they see him or the vehicle linked to investigators.
Authorities urged anyone with information about his location to contact emergency services without approaching him directly immediately.
The shooting occurred at 9415 Wellington Road, prompting a significant police response around the Manassas business Wednesday.
Victims Remain in Critical Condition
The victims were transported to hospitals for treatment, with two taken to UVA Prince William Medical Center.
A third victim was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where all three remained in critical condition Wednesday.
Nearby schools and residents faced precautionary security measures while officers searched for the suspect throughout Wednesday morning.
Investigation Continues
Investigators are working to determine whether an argument preceded the gunfire, based on preliminary police information available.
Authorities have continued searching for the suspect while detectives gather evidence and interview potential witnesses nearby today.
Police have not announced an arrest, and the investigation remains active as officers work to locate Grant.
The incident has renewed attention around workplace safety as investigators examine circumstances surrounding the shooting closely.
Officials are expected to provide information as detectives confirm details and determine what led to Wednesday’s violence.
