6-foot-6 Boyle County star Seneca Driver delivered a massive hit after an interception, sending a defender to the turf during a wild Kentucky high school football game.
The Oklahoma commit became the center of attention after a play in which he appeared to overpower an opposing player and drive him to the ground. The collision quickly became one of the most talked-about moments from the latest round of Friday night football.
Seneca Driver Delivers Massive Play
Driver, a senior tight end at Boyle County, is listed at 6-foot-6 and 234 pounds. His combination of size and athleticism was on full display during the sequence.
After a defender intercepted a pass intended for Boyle County’s offense, Driver pursued the play and delivered the punishing takedown.
The video showed Driver using his considerable size to throw the defender to the turf, creating a striking moment that quickly attracted attention.
Driver Has Plenty of Football Experience
The play was not an isolated example of Driver’s impact on the field.
Last season, he helped Boyle County win a state championship and was named Kentucky’s 4A Player of the Year. He finished that season with 875 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns while also recording 67 tackles and five interceptions on defense.
His ability to contribute on both sides of the ball has helped make him one of the more intriguing high school prospects in Kentucky.
Oklahoma Commit Continues to Turn Heads
Driver committed to Oklahoma in March after receiving offers from several major college programs.
His reported offers included Alabama, Arkansas, Notre Dame, Auburn and Cincinnati before he chose the Sooners. Recruiting services have also ranked him among the top tight ends in the country.
That recruiting attention has only increased interest in his performances during his final high school season.
Strong Start to the Season
Driver has already produced eye-catching numbers this season.
Earlier in the year, he recorded four touchdowns and an interception in one half of a game, demonstrating his ability to affect the contest on both sides of the football.
His latest highlight added another memorable clip to a growing collection of plays that have drawn attention to the Boyle County standout.
A High School Football Highlight Goes Viral
High school football routinely produces spectacular plays, but Driver’s combination of size, speed and physicality made this particular sequence stand out.
At 6-foot-6 and 234 pounds, Driver has a physical profile that immediately catches attention when he gets involved in a play.
The hit also illustrated why two-way players remain such an important part of high school football, particularly for programs where standout athletes are asked to contribute on offense and defense.
Driver’s College Career Is Next
Driver is expected to continue his football career at Oklahoma after completing his senior season at Boyle County.
For now, the Sooners commit remains focused on finishing his high school career. If his recent performances are any indication, there could be plenty more highlight-reel moments before he makes the jump to college football.
The latest play provided another glimpse of the physical tools that made Driver a highly recruited prospect and one of the most recognizable players in Kentucky high school football.
