Reacher star Alan Ritchson and wife Catherine announce their split after 20 years of marriage, saying they remain committed to their three sons.

Alan Ritchson and his wife Catherine Ritchson have announced they are ending their marriage after 20 years together.

The Reacher star, 43, and Catherine shared the news in a joint social media statement on September 12, saying they have decided to move forward “in a different way” while maintaining their love and respect for one another.

“After twenty years together, Cat and I have decided to end our marriage and continue alongside one another in a different way,” the couple said in their statement.

The pair reflected on the life and family they built together, emphasizing that their three sons remain their top priority.

“We grew up together. We built a life and a family together,” they said, adding that they are raising “three incredible boys who will always be the center of our world.”

Alan Ritchson and Catherine focus on co-parenting

Ritchson and Catherine share three sons: Calem, Edan and Amory. The couple said their priority during the separation is maintaining a strong co-parenting relationship.

They described friendship, grace and a commitment to becoming the strongest co-parents possible as the best path forward for their family.

The couple also asked the public to respect their privacy as they adjust to the major change in their lives.

Alan Ritchson and Catherine’s relationship

Ritchson and Catherine’s relationship dates back to their teenage years. They first met in a ballet class in Florida before reconnecting later in life. They became engaged in 2005 and married in May 2006.

Their announcement marks the end of a two-decade marriage that continued as Ritchson’s acting career grew, eventually leading him to international recognition as Jack Reacher in Amazon’s hit series Reacher.

According to reports, Ritchson had previously filed for divorce in December 2025, citing irreconcilable differences, before the couple reconciled in March 2026. Their latest joint announcement confirms that they are now moving forward separately.

Despite the end of their marriage, the couple stressed that their shared history and family remain important to both of them.

“Nothing can diminish what these years have meant to us—or the love and respect we will always share,” they said.
