Lizard Music: Dwayne Johnson’s Bold Christmas 2027 Hit arrives as Amazon MGM schedules the highly anticipated fantasy film for December 25, 2027. Dwayne Johnson will lead the unusual cinematic adventure, with filmmaker Benny Safdie directing the adaptation of Daniel Rainwater’s beloved novel.
The Christmas Day release positions Lizard Music among the notable upcoming movies targeting holiday audiences. The project also brings together a major Hollywood star and an acclaimed director known for distinctive storytelling.
Dwayne Johnson Leads Lizard Music Movie
Dwayne Johnson takes center stage in Lizard Music, a film that promises an unconventional story for audiences seeking something different. His involvement adds star power to a project built around an imaginative literary concept.
Johnson has built a successful career across action movies, family entertainment and dramatic performances. His participation in this fantasy adaptation could introduce the unusual source material to a much broader moviegoing audience.
Amazon MGM plans to release the film theatrically on Christmas Day 2027. That holiday launch gives the production a prominent release window during one of the busiest periods for family outings and cinema attendance.
Benny Safdie Brings Daniel Rainwater’s Fantasy Novel to Life

The unusual encounter opens the door to an imaginative adventure involving hidden worlds, unexpected friendships and extraordinary discoveries. A beloved 111-year-old chicken named Claudia also plays an important role in the story.
Rainwater’s original novel combines surreal humor, childhood curiosity and imaginative storytelling. Safdie’s adaptation offers an opportunity to translate those distinctive elements into a live-action and computer-generated imagery cinematic experience.
Lizard Music Cast Adds Hollywood Stars
Alongside Johnson, the Lizard Music cast includes newcomer Theo Clark Leer, Alicia Silverstone, Tim Heidecker and Regina Hall. Andrew Dice Clay and Arya Parvathi also join the film’s ensemble. <Cite refs={[“turn864610search7″,”turn864610search2”]}/>
The production also features Colman Domingo, Jeff Goldblum, Rachel McAdams and David Krumholtz in voice roles. Their involvement adds established acting talent to the film’s imaginative fantasy world. <Cite refs={[“turn864610search7”]}/>
Dwayne Johnson Undergoes a Dramatic Transformation
Johnson’s role as the Chicken Man requires a significant departure from his familiar action-hero image. The actor has discussed slimming down and undergoing extensive makeup work to portray the eccentric older character. <Cite refs={[“turn864610news8”]}/>
This transformation signals an opportunity for Johnson to explore another unconventional role after his dramatic performance in The Smashing Machine. His collaboration with Safdie could further showcase his versatility beyond traditional blockbuster action movies.
Amazon MGM Targets Christmas Day 2027
Amazon MGM Studios has scheduled Lizard Music for a December 25, 2027, theatrical release through its United Artists label. The Christmas Day premiere places the fantasy adventure in a major holiday moviegoing window. <Cite refs={[“turn864610search0″,”turn864610search2”]}/>
The release date could help attract families and viewers searching for imaginative entertainment during the festive season. However, the film will face competition from other major productions targeting the same holiday audience.
With Johnson leading the cast, Safdie directing and Rainwater’s unusual story providing the foundation, Lizard Music offers a distinctive alternative to conventional holiday releases.
Why Lizard Music Could Become a Standout Fantasy Movie
The combination of surreal storytelling and recognizable Hollywood talent gives Lizard Music a distinctive position among upcoming fantasy films. Its unusual premise could appeal to audiences who appreciate inventive family adventures and unconventional cinematic worlds.
Safdie’s direction also raises expectations because his previous collaboration with Johnson explored a markedly different genre. Their reunion suggests another creative challenge, allowing the actor to embrace a character far removed from his typical screen persona.
As the December 2027 release approaches, audiences can expect further attention around the film’s marketing, cast and visual approach. For now, Lizard Music stands out as an intriguing upcoming movie with an unusual story and a major Christmas Day release.
