FDNY and NYPD featured in pregame ceremony

The FDNY’s ceremonial Ladder 343 truck was displayed outside MetLife Stadium, while an authentic piece of World Trade Center steel was also displayed by the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. The Ladder 343 reference honored firefighters from the company who were among those lost on 9/11.
Members of the NYPD also helped lead the Giants onto the field before the game, while service members participated in the national anthem ceremony.

The stadium also featured a visual tribute inspired by New York City’s annual Tribute in Light.
Two vertical beams of light illuminated the area around MetLife Stadium, echoing the memorial tradition associated with the World Trade Center site.

9/11 family members serve as honorary captains
Members of the Palumbo family, whose FDNY father was killed during the Sept. 11 attacks, were honored as honorary captains for the coin toss.
Their presence connected the football game directly to the personal stories of families who lost loved ones 25 years ago.

Giants begin new era with win over Cowboys
